Library

The State Archive Library in Kalisz holds publications on both Polish and general history, archive administration and practice, general and specialist encyclopaedias, works of reference, including regional works, dictionaries, both of language and subject-specific, guides to the resources of Polish and foreign archives, and a variety of information resources and source publications. Monographs and other works of a regional nature constitute an important part of the library's resources.

It also holds a collection of periodicals. While the oldest of these dates back to 1813, the main body consists of contemporary regional publications. In addition, the Archive houses a substantial collection of Official Journals dating from the 19th and 20th century. The periodicals collection represents a significant archival resource covering such areas of life as the economic and the business, the social and the cultural.

A computerised catalogue, created using Access software, provides support and simplifies use of the library's resources.

The library collection can be accessed in the Archive's Reading Room between 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM.
