Assisted Searches

The Archives searches files for the offices’ purposes (administrative and judicial proceedings) and for personal aims (among others: genealogical and science). The research is done upon the person concerned request. The application can be submitted in person, vie mail, fax or email. Administrative Code of Conduct does not allow for making application over the phone.

According to the Code of Conduct, the application ought to include at least:

  • indication of the person submitting the application (name and surname),
  • the address of the person submitting the application,
  • the subject of the application (information concerning the author of the document, date of the document issue (year or years range), or any other tips allowing for effective research),
  • the way the documents will be used,
  • the signature of the person submitting The Application,
  • respectively, other elements demanded by the specific regulations.

The Archives issues certified true copies, reproductions and certificates on the basis of owned archival materials, for legal administrative purposes. The documents are issued upon the justified demand of the person concerned, and in respect of the ruling legal regulations.

The Archives conducts research connected with documents concerning genealogy, ownership titles and inheritance to a limited extend, due to rising number of orders.

The realization of the ordered research:

The applications connected with legal and administrative matters, resulting in issuing the documents demanded in legal transaction, are taken into consideration in the first place.

The research for non official purposes (among others, genealogical) is treated as the Archives service activity. These services are provided by the Archives, according to technical, organizational and staff possibilities. The waiting period depends on the number of application forms and other statue duties of the institution. Currently the waiting period can be, for example, over two months.

Stamp duty in the State Archives in Kalisz

Issuing the certificates and all kinds of certified true copies, on the basis of the archival materials demands stamp issue, according to the Act of 16 November 2006 (OJ No 225, item 1635), The Regulation of the Minister of Finance of 21 December 2006 (OJ, 2006 No 246, item 1804), The Notice of the Marshal of the Sejm of Republic of Poland of 15 May 2015 (OJ, 2015, item 783)
